DIVING IN
Accessible Waters is a research project exploring the experiences of visually impaired people as they connect with blue spaces – coasts, rivers, lakes, and pools. It explores the interdependence between people, place, and access, to shape these experiences, including both opportunities and challenges.
By sharing lived experiences and opening conversations around accessibility, the project aims to inspire more inclusive ways of engaging with watery spaces. The research is supported by the Economic and Social Research Council, South Coast Doctoral Training Partnership, and the University of Brighton Business and Law School.
Meaningful participation takes time, trust, and flexibility
